You can kind of see the obvious ending coming down the road but even after you “finish”, the main story isn’t completely over. The “mini games” left a little to be desired & some the gameplay was a bit repetitive in nature but that is basically the whole point of the game. I’m not very good at fighting games in general but I found the mechanics of the game extremely easy to get used to and level up my characters and their weapons for battle. If you’re really into artwork & music this game delivers with its detailed and intriguing design.
The voice talents of the characters themselves are also quite good. My favorite character overall was “Mama”. While playing this game I started looking deeper into the lore and actually purchased both NieR Automata & NieR Replicant for the PS4, both of which I highly recommend. The characters & their stories were interesting and engaging. I was immediately drawn in by the graphics, music and mood of the game. This was my very first introduction to the NieR franchise and I have to say, it was nothing less than excellent.
